Katherine

On Sunday we packed up the camp trailer and started driving to Katherine farm stay. When we drove into Katherine we stopped at the shops. In the aisle we saw Lincoln, Gerry and Pete. When we arrived at Katherine farm stay we drove to our campsite and set up the camp trailer and our tent. Next I had a google meet with my class and had dinner.

On Monday me, Mia and Lincoln explored the campsite and went fishing. I caught a fish but the line got caught on a log or branch in the water and snapped. Next we had dinner and went to bed.

On Tuesday we went on a walk at Edith falls, Nitmiluk National park. We got to go swimming twice. The temperature was super hot. The first time we went swimming was at a waterfall and I went underneath it. It was freezing! The second time we went swimming it was in a little pond with a river and I got to use Lincoln’s snorkel and it was the first time I ever had touched a snorkel. When we got back to the campsite we had an early dinner and went spotlighting. On the way we stopped and turned over to the side of the road and Pete ran past our car when we were getting out. When we caught up to Pete he was holding a dead Pigmy King Brown it had it’s stomach and guts all hanging out. Soon we stopped at a bridge and saw lots of fish. When we arrived at Edith falls we went to the pond with the waterfall and found some Barramundi and frogs. There was lots of Cane Toads around. Next we stopped at a bridge and saw a Snook, Barramundi and Pete found and picked up a Childrens Python and I got to touch it. Soon we drove back to the campsite and on the way I fell asleep.

On Wednesday me and Lincoln made a huge military base and used Lincoln’s model tanks, planes, sandbags and missiles while Mia played chess with Pete. Later in the day Me,Lincoln and Mia went fishing with Dad. I caught a Black Brim and it was on my line the entire time and we didn’t know it was there. When we got back we found out a bower bird had taken lots of the green military items. Then had dinner and went to bed.

On Friday we drove to Cutta Cutta Caves and payed for a tour of the caves. There were lots of stalictights hanging from the roof. I learned that stalicmights are formed when the minerals in the water when it drips off the tip and hots something hard it starts growing to form the stalicmights. After we had been in the caves we went back to the campsite and had dinner.
