On Monday we packed up the camp trailer and drove to Litchfield Safari Camp. When we arrived we set up had dinner and went to bed.
On Tuesday we visited curtain falls. It was a 1.7 kilometre walk to reach the pools. The walk was very hot and exposed. We saw lots of skinks and there was lots of rocks and dry grass. There was some steep parts of the walk and some flat parts of the walk. When we arrived at the rapids we explored up the river and it was very slippery. I slipped and scraped my back on a rock and hurt my wrist and it really hurt. We sat under little water falls and it felt cold on my back. Next we walked down to the plunge pool and we swam in that for a little until we all got cold and wanted to go back to the car. When we arrived at Wangi Falls we had lunch under a tree and the grass felt tickly. When we finished lunch we walked to the falls. We all swam over to the waterfall and we found a seat to sit next to the waterfall. The seat was hard and rocky. The falls made it super loud. When we got back to the car we got an ice cream and it melted all over my hand. Next we drove back to the campsite had dinner and went to bed.
On Wednesday we drove to Florence falls. When we arrived we walked down some stairs to a lookout and down some more stairs. At the lookout we saw Florence Falls from the top. Eventually when we arrived we entered the water by some extremely busy stairs. The water was very cold and it was so deep the water was black. When we swam out to the waterfall and went behind it near the waterfall there was not many people. It was the first time I had ever gone behind a waterfall. The water splattered hard on my head and I had to look away so the water would not hit my face. When we swam back to the entrance we saw lots of fish swimming around the rocks. When we got out we decided to walk a different way back along a creek. It was very shady and cool. Eventually we arrived at the car park and drove to Buley rock hole. Soon we arrived and we walked along some pavement to the rock hole. The rocks were slimy and the water was refreshing. The rock hole was kind of like a little plunge pool. When we got back to the campsite we had dinner and went to bed.
On Thursday we drove to Tjarnera falls (the T is silent) on the way we had to do multiple river crossings and stopped at a homestead. At the homestead the roof was very low and inside there was an album. The kids that lived there used to work in a mine. They used dynamite to find all the little bits of tin. The kids had to be 10+ years old to work at the mine. One of the brothers, named Max, had caught a baby salt croc and raised it to be his pet. When we arrived at Tjarnera we went on a walk. The walk was very hot and exposed. The flies were horrible and kept buzzing around my head really loudly. Finally we arrived and entered the water. The water was freezing we quickly swam over to the falls. We all thought that it was the most amazing falls we have been to. The falls had little pools up the top that the water ran in and out of. When we walked back to the car park it was no where near as hot. Next we drove to Suprise Falls. On the walk we had to hop on rocks to get across a river. When we arrived we had to search for it because it was hidden. It was so black you could not see the bottom. We spent the entire time jumping in and no one ever saw the bottom of the plunge pool. When we arrived at the campsite we had dinner and went to bed.
On Friday we drove to Greenant Creek. When we arrived we walked 1.7 kilometres and it felt like it took for ages and it was very hot and exposed. Eventually we arrived at the infinity pool and had a swim. When we got back to the car we drove to the Lost City. Soon we were in the car park and started walking around the Lost City. It kind of looked like a half buried city. Next we drove to Walker Creek. Eventually when we arrived we went on a 1.7 kilometre walk. It was extremely hot and felt like we were walking for ages. People could camp at that different pools. Eventually we got there and entered pool 6 which was the shared pool. When we got in we swam for awhile and then I started exploring the waterfall. There were 2 mini pools that the water ran into. When we got back to the campsite we had dinner and went to bed.
We swam in every 10 possible swimming spots
