Cape Range National Park (31/10/2023-2/11/2023)

At Cape Range National park we did lots of snorkeling. On the day we arrived Dad taught us how to use our flippers.

The next day we went snorkeling at Oyster Stacks  and Lakeside. At Oyster stacks me and Dad snorkeled over the Ningaloo Reef while Mum and Mia practiced using flippers. Me and Dad saw lots of fish and coral. I also spotted one big clam lying on the ground. Once we got a long way down the reef it got so cold that most of my body went numb. At Lakeside we swam out and then me and Mum drifted with the current, while Mia and Dad went back to shore. We didn’t see many fish but saw some coral and a big school of black spotted tusk fish.

The next day we went to Turquoise Bay. At Turquoise Bay all four of us went out snorkeling over the reef and saw lots of little bright blue fish. I saw a turtle 3 times. We also saw a big unicorn fish. They are called unicorn fish because their nose looks like a unicorn horn. When we got back Dad went fishing and caught a snub nosed dart.

I believe Ningaloo is a fantastic place to visit. Magical is how someone described it to me. Snorkeling is just so fantastic- you get to see so many wonderful things in their natural environment. Love Aunty Kate x
