On the first day we went out to the Aquarium. This Aquarium was different to most because it was an outside Aquarium. At the Aquarium we went on a tour around all of the tanks. They had lots of marine life. We got to watch them feed some sharks in a huge tank. They had some blue spotted whiptail rays. The bigger one of the two had half a tail. The rays tail had been cut off when she was in the wild. People cut rays tails off because they are afraid of being stung. Rays only sting if they think that they are in danger or if they have been stood on. If people cut off rays tail off the rays tails it means that they are left defensless for the rest of their life.
After the tour we went to the restaurant that was part of the Aquarium for lunch. Me, Mia & Dad had a shared seafood platter. It was huge. While we were eating lunch lots of sharks swam past the shore all heading in the same direction. After lunch we went to the Eagle Bluff lookout. At Eagle Bluff lookout we saw lots of sealife. Next we went to a beach and saw lots of sharks swimming past. Then we went to a beach for a swim but the water wasn’t very nice so we went back to the campsite.

The next day we went out to Steep Point. On the way we stopped at False Entrance to see some blowholes. Blowholes are created by erosion. At first we knew they were there because we could hear them. They sounded like a roar. Then we drove out to Steep Point which is the most westerly point of mainland Australia. Now we have done all four points of the compss and the centre. At Steep Point we had our photo with the sign and we signed the visitors book. We also found our Gerry, Pete and Lincoln in the visitors book from July.
Next we left to go to Thunder Bay blow holes. On the way to Thunder bay we watched people do some balloon fishing. Balloon fishing is when you have a balloon tied to your line and it carries your bait a long way away. One of the men caught a 3m shark but couldn’t pull it up the cliff so he cut the line. At Thunder Bay the waves crashing against the cliff sounded like thunder. There were blow holes everywhere. One of them looked like a Dragons Lair. After Thunder bay we went to Shelter Bay. Mia and Dad went snorkeling and Mum found a starfish. On the way back we saw the first living wild camels on our trip.

The next day we went to Monkey Mia to watch them feed the dolphins. We waited for three hours but the dolphins did not come but we saw a green back turtle. The sign said that if they are not there by 9:00 they are not coming so we went back to Denham. That night we went for dinner with Taylor, Lesley and Grady at the pub. We hadn’t seen Taylor for so long so it was nice to see her.
