Kalbarri (14/11/2023 – 17/11/2023)

On the first day we went to Kalbarri National Park. At Kalbarri National Park we did lots of walks. We went on a skywalk it had a 17m and a 25m platform that came off the cliff. It is the biggest cantilever (a structure that hangs in the air without any supports) in the southern hemisphere. Next we went on a walk down to a river. The terrain was extremely rocky. When we got down to the river we put our feet in and watched the fish try and find the courage to have a taste at our feet for a while. After  Kalbarri National Park we went fishing on the beach. It would have taken to long to do the tires so we risked getting bogged. When we started fishing we had no bites but the tide kept blowing us around, taking our bait and tangling up our lines so we moved to a river and started fishing there. At the river we thought the crabs kept on taking our bait. All day we caught nothing.

The next day we went to the bakery for lunch and played at the playground. After the playground we went to the river for a swim. We walked along the beach to where we were fishing the day before and then back down. When we got back to the campsite we went to the pool.

The next day me and Dad went fishing and Dad caught a Box fish. We think Box fish are the reason for us using lots of bait.

Isaac you and dad have done lots of fishing. I think you must really like it especially catching the fish. Kalbarri sounds beautiful. Hope it was exciting going on the skywalk and going out on the platforms. Did you get mum to do it? She would be very brave but I bet you helped her. Love Grandma ❤️

Mum didn’t go on the skywalk because it was so narrow there was nowhere that you couldn’t see the ground

Absolutely amazing time you are having Isaac. Why do Box fish take so much bait? Are they a big fish? Your walks are through magnificent countryside and the photos are great. Thanks for sharing. Love Aunty Kate xx
