When we were driving to Broome we went on a walk through a cave system called Tunnel Creek. At the start we had to swim across a big still underground river with our heads up so our head torches didn’t get wet. It was really dark. The water was so cold that it hurt. While we were swimming we heard and saw bats flying above us and fish swimming around us. After that the only time that we had to cross water we just had to wade through except for the end. Half way through the tunnel there had been a cave collapse and now all of the trees had grown in the rocks and the fruit bats were flying around in the day light. There were bats hanging from the stalactites while chatting to each other. At the end of the tunnel we found freshwater croc tracks and there was a big rain forest on the other side. We couldn’t find any crocs though. On the way back we saw lots of tiny little jumping frogs that would suddenly hop across the way you were walking.
Tunnel Creek was a walk that I will remember for a long time and it gave me new experiences.

Next we are going to Dampier Peninsula.
